Braided Cord

Solid Braided cords/ braids are manufactured on 8, 12, 16, 18, 20 or 36 strand braiding machines, depending on the size of the cord required.

Many braids are reinforced with solid core of synthetic twine/ yarn for increasing strength and hardness. Braiding type could be single-braiding, double-braiding, solid-braiding, cord-braids, diamond-braids.

We make the following kinds of braids:

Hollow braid

Braids without a central solid core, thus imparting softness to the cord.

Solid braid

These braids have a core that fills the central void.

Double braided cord

These are braid on braid, typically consisting of an inner braid which is used as a core filling the central void in an outer braid that may be of the same or different material.

Available in sizes varying from 3mm to 1”

  • Following packaging options are available:
    • Hank of 100gm to 500gms
    • Coil of 100meters or 220 meters

Nylon

Offers high tensile strength, high elasticity, energy absorption & impact resistance, high melting point

Polyester

Offers high tensile strength, low elastic elongation, high melting point (approx. 480) and good abrasion resistance.

Polypropylene (Multifilament)

Soft and flexible and has the feel of nylon. Strength is about ½ of nylon with a low melting point (approx. 330). It is a light-weight fiber with high positive buoyancy which allows it to float.

Polyethylene

Similar to Polypropylene fiber, retains memory and slicker than polypropylene. Has better UV protection. Heavier than Polypropylene and offers more abrasion resistance. It also has high buoyancy.

Cotton

Offers wicking ability, soft non-scouring surface and superior knot retention.
